2013 sees the fourth MP Volunteer Week run in the Harrogate and Knaresborough constituency.

The idea is that I will volunteer for different charities and organisations during the morning and afternoon for six days. Volunteer week stemmed from the want to publicise the vital work done everyday within our community by the hard working volunteers of Harrogate and Knaresborough.

For the past three years, each Volunteer Week has been very successful, with the organisations and charities I visited highlighting the importance of volunteering within our community. I have received positive feedback from all who I have been involved in volunteering with. Some organisations stated they would be happy to help with organising volunteer weeks in the future.

As a volunteer last year I was involved with some fantastic charities and organisation working hard along side, Harrogate Hospital Radio, Follifoot Park Disabled Riders Group and Park Run Harrogate to name a few. This year I will again be working alongside some fantastic charities and organisations throughout the four days and working hard with the volunteers who work there on a daily bases.

This year’s Volunteer Week will run from Monday 23 September till Saturday 28 September.
