The Child Contact Centre at West Park provides a platform for parents who have separated to keep in touch with ther children. It is a very valuable resource ensuring that, in difficult family circumstances, both parents can build a relationship with their children and the children with both their parents.
I was setting up at first, putting out tables and also toys for the children to play with. I also prepared refreshments and spoke at length with the volunteers (who I am pictured with) about the challenges facing their charity.
I was again deeply impressed at the dedication of the voluntary team and also with the mission of the charity – to provide the space and opportunity for parents and children to bond.
A thought-provoking end to my fourth volunteer week.
