Help at Home

HELP webA really positive start to Volunteer Week 2013, assisting with the fantastic service that Help at Home provides. Help at Home is part of the Harrogate Easier Living Project (HELP) and offers gardening, decorating and basic repair services to those who are unable to do it themselves. They tackle about 300 projects a year.

I was aware of their work but had not been directly involved with them before, so it was an insight to see how valuable the work they undertake is and the real, tangible difference it makes to houses and livelihoods across Harrogate.

We were finishing off a repair and decorating project in central Harrogate, so it was straight to the roller and get painting.

Many thanks to Elwyn and Dave at HELP for allowing me to join them.

HELP have a team of volunteers who help with gardening, DIY, support for carers and driving and are always looking for more help. If you would like to get involved then you can contact Lizzie Hughes, Project Development Worker, at help@harcvs.org.uk or telephone 01423 813093 or 01423 813090.
